How I work

A word on AI: as an exciting addition to the modern design process, I enjoy exploring what it can do. Good design, however, still depends on human creativity, judgement, and a fair bit of hard-won experience. AI is a toolset that needs a guiding hand.

On UX and UI: these days people talk about UX and UI as if they are a new-found revelation, but good designers have always known that things must be clear, logical and pleasant to use as well as good to look at. Nothing new, just properly done.

As technologies change, the fundamentals remain the same: good design isn’t just about how something looks — it’s about whether people want to pick it up, use it, and keep it around.

There is plenty of work to be done. Here is the ‘fluff-free’ way forward:

1 To provide what can reasonably be achieved in a given time frame to the highest standard.

2 To make the best use of resources to accomplish the most effective, appropriate outcome.

3 That a problem solved becomes a pleasure. I for one would do all this wonderful workstuff for free if there were no bills to pay.

Every project is handled with care, attention, and a sharp eye for detail.

If anything needs refining, just let me know — I’ll sort it.
